Workshop Dialogue on Violence against women and how to prevent it…

Within the framework of its regular activities and on the sidelines of the meeting on the discussion of the Social Dignity Index, ASSF organized a two-day meeting on December 21-22 2017 in Tunis on violence against women and its prevention. Mrs. Samia Daoula, a judge and former missionary at the Ministry of Women, Family and Children, has been involved in drafting the comprehensive law against violence against women. Hadia AlHaj Youssef, coordinator of the Gender-Based Violence Project at the kawthar Center, spoke about the law and provided related statistics. Academician Monia Rekik addressed the issue of symbolic violence as a form of non-physical violence, mainly through means of education and indoctrination of knowledge and ideology, a gentle and inconceivable form of violence, invisible to the victims themselves. Ms. Salwa Trabelsi also presented indicators of violence and inequality. Afef Griri made a presentation on wage inequality. The meeting included interventions by some participants in the discussion panel.
