The Applied Social Sciences Forum is non-governmental
organization founded in 2011 in Tunis. Since its inception,
the ASSF has sought to solve problems of social reality,
to support reform initiatives, to advocate for public policy,
and to influence legislation and institutions. It has also
aimed at raising public awareness of social issues by
disseminating the culture of “voice” within the framework
of strengthening local governance using various

The Tunisian Center for Global Security Studies is an
independent, non-profit and non-partisan organization
established in 2013. It engages in governance through
the preparation of strategic security studies in its various
dimensions. The Center aims to develop the proactive
role of security studies to be a force for bringing forward
proposals and participate in the elaboration of public
policies. The Center also works to spread the culture of
republican citizenship and to achieve protection for
democratic values and the rule of law. The Center
provides for a wide range of activities. It is focused in
part on National terrorism threat level, as well as on
preventing and responding to violent extremism.
This is the role the Center plays in CAFA Network (Civil
Activists in the Fight against Violent Extremism), founded
by retired Colonel-Major Mokhtar Ben Nasr. The most
prominent with the help of some key professors like

Tunisia Plus Association was established in 2017. Its
main objective is to help young people find work by
promoting research in Entrepreneurship and Small
and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly
through meetings, exchanges, discussions
and dissemination of knowledge about marketing
and entrepreneurship. The association works mainly
towards helping young people, mostly from vulnerable
groups, to find jobs/ or start their own projects. It
also participates in spreading the culture of entrepreneur-
ship in academic institutions by developing and renewing
the content and educational curricula used in teaching entrepre-
neurship culture; to develop cooperation and partnerships with
organizations that support entrepreneurship; encourage
meetings that enable effective synergies; and finally, to

The Tunisian League for Citizenship was established
in 2011. It aims at spreading the values of citizenship
and the culture of equal rights through political
participation and economic and social development.
It also works to defend the values of citizenship, to

condemn collective human dignity, justice, peace,
progress and cooperation, to ensure equal rights among
the citizens, and to deepen the knowledge in issues

The Tunisian Scout Organization was founded in
1933 and currently has more than 40,000 members,
including 8,000 male and female leaders. It is an
educational organization open to all, and it has the
status of a public interest organization under executive
Order issued on 16 February 1977. The Tunisian Scouts
Organization comprises 344 scout groups and 1,884
scout units. It is the largest youth organization in Tunisia.
The Tunisian Scout Organization has received Good
Governance Certificate after being part of The Global
Support Assessment Tool, which is managed by the Global
Scout Bureau. It allows the awarding of a certificate of
recognition of best practices in good governance
and scouting. The Tunisian Scout Organization aims at
educating youth of both genders, and based on the
principles of the scouting and guiding movement in the
world, and according to the scouting method in line with
the reality of the Tunisian society. It helps them to
develop their spiritual, mental, physical and social
capacities and to perform duties to God, to the self
and to others. The Tunisian Scout Organization has major
partnerships with UNHCR, UNICEF and the Danish Youth
Council and participates in the Economic and Social Council
of the United Nations as observer. It has recently mplem-
ented a major program on spreading the culture of
tolerance and combating violent extremism, which has
been very successful both in Tunisia and abroad...
